All Jacked Up

We have tried and tried to take this kid's picture with at least a (somewhat) pleasing expression. (See our last attempts!) Why, oh, why, does he know his parents are photographers and have a STANDARD??? I wanted one giant canvas of all three of us, but THAT didn't work, so instead we opted for a series. FINALLY! Some expressions I like!!

I shot some of Jon and Jack, then we switched and Jon shot some of me and Jack. One of these days, Jack may even join the old switcheroo and take some of me and Jon...! Maybe around his second birthday. :)

This will be a series of Canvas Gallery Wraps with striped green edges. Totally cool and (yes) totally new. No one has any like it. Yet.

We Found Our Model!

We had so many great entries for our model search! Thanks to everyone who responded. It really was SO HARD to choose.

On the very last day of the deadline, Alyssa Stout from Anderson sent us pictures of her 10-year-old sister, Emily.

Alyssa said, "Emily is the sweetest little girl I know. The reason I would like to see Emily be chosen as your model is because she is deserving of this title. I think that this would help her self esteem because at her age, girls are mean! No matter what, Emily keeps her head high and that pretty smile on her face! When girls are mean, she just prays for them. I would love to see someone give her a chance to portray her God-given beauty."

Alyssa's heartfelt writings about her sister caught my attention, as well as the photos she sent in. The one below captures exactly what I wanted for our spring model— spunk, style, and beautiful long hair!

Sneak Peek: Belly Buttons Valentine Portraits!

We were at Belly Buttons Boutique last weekend for Valentines portraits. Did we have fun or WHAT! It was definitely challenging, working on-site and not in the controlled atmosphere of the studio, but we made it! Here's a few random faves....

Just to remind last-minute high-school seniors of 09, we put up a billboard on northbound Hwy 71. Sara Simmons from Lamar graces it so sweetly!

Our Saturdays are booked until the middle of April. We have weekday appointments available, Weds. through Fri., as early as February 18th (at the time of this writing). If you want Calotype senior pictures, hurry and book. We only do a few a week and we fill up FAST. Last year, we turned away (sadly!) several seniors because it was too late.
