Lance Pyron: Carthage, MO

We're so happy to welcome back Lance for his one-year portraits. You may recognize him— Lance will probably always be remembered as the little boy with the bare cheeks who won the People's Choice Award (Professional Photographers of the Ozarks' Spring Convention).

Because it was his first birthday, we ended the Session with a birthday cake. Little boys KNOW how to eat a birthday cake!! :)

Lance is the son of Rachel and Luke Pyron from Carthage.

Tracy and Adam Weston: Neosho, MO

Tracy and Adam are expecting their first child, a baby girl, in June. We're so excited for this couple, and we're so happy they decided to celebrate this special event with portraits from Calotype. Congratulations, Adam and Tracy, and we wish you all the happiness in the world. We can't wait to meet your little girl!

Emily Thomas: Joplin, MO

Thank heaven for little girls... they take the most delightful portraits. :) Emily is eight months old and the daughter of Kelly and Bobby Thomas in Joplin. We love her fuzzy-wuzzy hair. Cute stuff, Emily!

Sarah Heath: Goodman, MO

Sarah's a senior at Neosho High School. She's also REALLY into softball, if you can't tell. :)

Sarah and her mom, Tracey, were so easy to work with. Sarah did great in front of the camera, and we created some incredible images, a few which are featured below. Thanks for coming to Calotype, Sarah and Tracey!

Bethany Henry: Neosho, MO

We're so glad Bethany and her mom, Lana, decided to come to Anderson, Missouri for senior portraits. Bethany had a beautiful, bright smile and we made some beautiful images.

My favorite (at the moment, because I change my mind all the time!) is the one directly below, where she's looking back over her shoulder as she walks outside. Between the cold weather, rain and Good-Grief-Will-It-Ever-Go-Down Indian Creek, it's been challenging to work with outdoor portraits, but we prevail! :)

Here's some more highlights from Bethany's Session.

Kelly Owens: Noel, MO

All of Kelly's images were great, but my favorites were the wind-blown ones (second and third, below). I love the illusion of movement in photos.

Thanks, Kelly, for staying in McDonald County for senior portraits from Calotype!

Dye/Setser Family: Garfield, AR

We were so happy to have the Dye and Setser family from Garfield, Arkansas, in our studio for a family photograph. Last spring we had previously photographed Michelle Dye along with her husband and children, but to celebrate her parents' 40th anniversary she brought her entire extended family for a family portrait at Calotype.

Thanks, everyone, for choosing Calotype Photography to capture your family's memories; and congratulations, Bob and Kathy, for forty years together!

PROM NIGHT AT CALOTYPE: May 3rd

Prom night for McDonald County is May the 3rd, and Calotype is hosting a special portrait event, by appointment only, at our studio in Anderson. We're conveniently located across the creek and down the road from the high school, so students can stop in on their way to the prom for exclusive portraits from Calotype.

We're offering ridiculously inexpensive packages (starting at $25) and we promise our usual professionalism and style. Is it too good to be true? Of course not, but there is one catch— we can only photograph a certain number of couples. Our style of photography takes time and thought, so call now and book your Prom Session as soon as you can to ensure that we can find you a spot.

You must pay in advance to book; packages are listed below. You must have an appointment to be photographed. Rewards points are not redeemable for this event. For more info, please call 417.845.1151.

Sara Gofourth: Noel, MO

It was so windy outside when we photographed Sara for her senior portraits that we couldn't go outside, but we made all sorts of great images inside our natural-light studio. My favorite is the very last one, pictured below at the bottom. Who says all photographs have to be right-side-up?

Lauren Hall: Webb City, MO

Lauren came to Calotype for her senior portraits from Webb City, Missouri. I was feeling bored with my usual outdoor hangout spots, and convinced Lauren and her mom to traipse all over the back alleys of Anderson with me. The result? Great stuff, just like I wanted. Here's a few highlights from the Session.

Logan Grab: Anderson, MO

We love redheads! Logan has the most amazing hair and eyes, making her senior portraits especially beautiful. (Normally I'm a big fan of black and white, but when you have colors like these— black and white just doesn't do enough justice). We're so glad Logan decided to choose Calotype Photography, right here in Anderson, Missouri.

Joslyn Royce: Anderson, MO

Joslyn's just one year old. When babies are this age and walking, sometimes it can be difficult to keep their attention. Thankfully, with the help of a few strategically-placed stickers, Miss Joselyn gave us the images we were looking for. Isn't her curly hair just adorable?

Joslyn is the daughter of Krystal and Trevor Royce.

Sara Lewis: Marionville, MO

Sara came to Calotype for her senior portraits, all the way from Marionville, Missouri. She brought her violin (we love it when seniors bring props!) and an umbrella because, well— it was raining. We went outside, found an old wall that matched some of the colors in the umbrella, and voilá— more great shots from Calotype.

Long story— Sara came to us because of her aunt who lives in Texas, who knows people we've photographed in Neosho... we love it when word-of-mouth travels all over. :)

Shawn Gillespie: Goodman, MO

Shawn's a senior at McDonald County High School. We had a great time photographing him— we even cajoled his mom, Pearl, into holding the reflector and being a "grip" for us. Parents make such great assistants. :)

Great stuff, Shawn. Thanks for choosing Calotype Photography to create your senior portraits!

Ella Roberts: Pineville, MO

Little bitty Ella is only three months old, but isn't she just the sweetest package of cuteness? We love the way Mom has her decked out in her springy brown and white dress and matching headband. Adorable! (We think Ella knows it, from the intelligent gleam in her eyes). :)

Ella is the daughter of Ashley and Justin Roberts.

Heather Gardner: Anderson, MO

Heather's a senior at McDonald County High. Like many of our sessions, most of her images were created inside our natural light studio; but we love to go outside for a few, especially when we catch spontaneous images like the very bottom one (below) with the train. Heather had a beautiful smile and was so easy to work with. Thanks, Heather and mom Jane, for choosing Calotype Photography!

Parker and Riley Gent: Anderson, MO

Normally, it's my job as a photographer to get our subjects to smile. In this case, our subjects were causing me to laugh so hard I could barely hang on to the camera. :) Parker and Riley are six-year-old twins, and the term "twice the fun" definitely applies to them. Check out some of the highlights from the Session, posted below. These images will make you smile, too.

Four Generations of Marshall Women: McDonald County, MO

Left to right: Donna Marshall, grandma; Louise Marshall, great-grandma; Audrey Cullers; and Christina Cullers, mom. What a priceless heirloom this portrait will be, passed down from generation to generation! Thanks, Marshall women, for taking the time to make a memory last forever.
